Turkey is washed by four seas and we will talk about the peculiarities of each:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The Mediterranean is the southernmost, warmest and saltiest sea. The water temperature does not drop below 15 degrees Celsius in winter, and in summer it can rise as high as 31! Ideal for fans of bathing in “steamed milk”, so much it heats up in the season. Talking of the season, it’s the longest here, from May to October. There are plenty of non-predatory animals to spot, from large turtles to seals! <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The Aegean Sea – let’s be honest, it is in fact part of the Mediterranean but we tend to keep it apart and there are reasons to do so. It has been formed by flooding a part of the mainland, it includes many islands with coves and beaches of all kinds and is therefore a popular location for yacht charters with periods of three days or more (because you never get to see all the beauty in a few hours!). The water temperature is no less than 11C in winter and 25C in summer, which is slightly fresher than the Mediterranean.<\/li>\n
  3. The Sea of Marmara is an inland sea with strong currents, so yacht charters are not so popular. But it is possible to stay in a nice hotel on the beach and even take a swim, despite the proximity of business Istanbul. The water gets as warm as 29 degrees Celsius in summer and 9 degrees Celsius in winter.<\/li>\n
  4. The Black Sea is the worst region for swimming: the season is short, the sea is not blue (cause it\u2019s literary Black) and there are jellyfish in the sea. The water temperature averages around 9 degrees Celsius in winter and does not rise above 22 degrees in summer! Yachting is not very popular in this area but all the marinas have facilities to try freshly caught fish from the Black Sea.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
